The Honda Grazia has finally hit the showrooms and has been priced at Rs. 57,897. This is just the evidence of how much focused the company is on maintaining its top spot in the scooter segment. With the Grazia, the company has taken this league to a new level.
And indeed, the Honda Grazia has its own significance. The Activa brought the company to the position of the largest two-wheeler maker in India in terms of growth. The Grazia has all the potential to take this forward and consolidate its position there.
If you have been waiting for the launch of the Honda Grazia, or need a solid reason to believe that it should be the ultimate choice over the Honda 125, here are some things that you need to know.
Designing and features
The Honda Grazia is a level-next scooter and gets features that will blow your mind. The scooter is stylish and upmarket at every corner. The dual tone paint job and some premium quality of plastics for the switches make the scooter stand out among others including the Activa 125. The scooter comes with a lot of bold and sharp lines in the body which accentuates the urban appearance. The LED headlamp is placed on the front body and not on the handlebar. And guess what, the fully-digital instrumentation meter given in the Grazia is never seen before in any of the scooters in India. Apart from this, the 12-inch front wheel, telescopic front suspension, Honda’s CBS (combi-braking system) automatic headlamps, etc. make the scooter a better value for money than the Activa.
Of course, if you like a simple-designed scooter the Honda Activa 4G will do the trick for you. But for a bigger engine variant, going the sportier way (just like the Grazia) is better.
Honda uses the same engine as the Activa 125 to power the Grazia. This means, we will get the same 124.9 cc, air-cooled engine doing the mechanical duties of producing a maximum power of 8.5 bhp and a peak torque of 10.5 Nm. You can compare the engine and the transmission specifications on popular automobile websites like AutoPortal.com, and will find that nothing much has changed. In fact, it gets a similar fuel efficiency of close to 60km/litre as well.
So should you choose the Grazia over the Activa 125?
Everyone knows that the Honda Grazia is a sportier version of the Activa 125. But this fact is applicable only as long as the mechanical parameter is measured. Once we start taking the features offered into account, the Grazia stands out, not only against the Activa 125 but also among its peers. The Piaggio Vespa is another premium scooter with a 125 cc engine but isn’t as sporty and feature-rich as the latest Honda scooter.
So when you are thinking of buying a new Honda scooter, the Grazia is definitely the best one to choose and deserves to be considered over the Activa 125.
